"There’s no shortage of appealing self-catering farmhouses on Gozo and Tal Patri (its name means ‘priest’) is right up there together with its sister farmhouse (next door’s Tas Soru which means ‘nun’).
Both are thoughtful spacious conversions with bags of cool space indoors and private walled pool terraces outside perfect for making the most of the summer sun.
Everything here feels authentic from the mighty sandstone blocks and arches to the green painted entrance door the traditional tiles and the antique furnishings. There’s even an original carpenter’s bench with vice in the reception area.
Ghammar isn’t a bustling metropolis (but then nowhere on Gozo really is) but if your idea of the perfect Gozo getaway is peaceful seclusion that’s close enough to be anywhere on the island by car in just a few minutes this could be ideal". Jules

Ghammer Ghasri
Ghammar (pronounced “ammer”) is a cluster of Gozo farmhouses that lie between Zebbug and Ghasri on the north-west side of the island.
In Ghasri Gurden Hill with the imposing Gurden Lighthouse at its crest offers walkers a steep challenge and glorious views as a reward.
Wied L Ghasri valley is a lovely walk from Ghammar itself and it’s an ideal spot for country walks and cycling particularly in spring and winter.
The valley leads to the sea and a secluded inlet nestled between high cliffs that’s popular for swimming snorkelling and diving.
Tal Patri is a short drive from a number of beaches with Dwerja Bay. Lively Marsalforn Bay is a short drive to the north with its restaurants and bars fringing the turquoise Mediterranean.
The largest sandy beach on Gozo Ramla Bay is a little further east.
There is on-street parking close to the property.
