"I’m finding it difficult to choose my favourite part of this Gozo family farmhouse. Even the shrub-filled entranceway is a highlight and that’s before you reach the living space or pool terrace.
But if I had to choose it would be the balcony of Bedroom 2. Sat here with a glass of wine in hand as the sun goes down is epically lovely. Stretched out before you are valley and hills and the Mediterranean beyond.
Those views are (almost) as good from the pool terrace which is the largest terrace among the five Ghammar farmhouses. And it’s that combination of outdoor space dramatic scenery and the bright welcoming indoor space that makes Ta Tonina a particular favourite. I can imagine spending many hours basking happily here". PROPERTY DETAIL
Ground floor:
The L shaped interior of this Gozo family farmhouse is comfortable and spacious with a homely kitchen diner. I love the co-ordinated cupboards and wooden furniture. Cute.
Through a stone arch you reach the fresh roomy lounge. That airiness is amplified by the light from two large terrace doors that overlook the pool and countryside.
Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor with twin beds and an en suite.
First floor:
Stone stairs lead to the first floor where Bedroom 2 has a double bed and a balcony offering sensational views.
Bedroom 3 has twin beds. Both rooms have en-suite facilities.
Outdoors:
The terrace is spacious with an idyllic backdrop.
Private and secluded this feels like a real oasis.
Ghammer Hamlet Ghasri
Ta Tonina is in Ghammar (pronounced “ammer”) between Zebbug and Ghasri.
In Ghasri the steep walk up Gurden Hill to the lighthouse at its crest is a challenge for anyone who loves a good walk. Wied L Ghasri valley is a pleasant stroll from Ghammar. It’s an ideal spot for country walks and cycling particularly in spring and winter.
The valley leads to the sea and a secluded inlet nestled between high cliffs.
The inlet is popular for swimming snorkelling and diving.
Ta Tonina is close to several good beaches including Dwerja Bay and the former stunning Azure Window. Lively Marsalforn Bay is closest to the north and Ramla Bay the largest sandy beach on Gozo to the east.
